STEM Night took place to engage parents in the learning that takes place daily at APS.
Odyssey of the Mind: Ashford Park took 3 teams to the regional competition! in 2017, 2 teams advanced to the State Competition!!!! Of these 2 teams, 1 team advanced to the World Finals!
APS teachers successfully conducted Parent/Teacher conferences for students to fully discuss their learning and progress with parents.
Writing across the Curriculum - teachers are utilizing Writers Workshop in the classroom to raise Writing Scores.
Gifted: Over 70 students are now in the gifted program. APS has several 4th and 5th graders who are now apart of the prestigious Duke TIP program. Received funding for STEM materials to begin having daily STEM challenges in all gifted classrooms 2nd semester, gifted students have participated in Scratch Computer classes, GA State Saturday School for gifted learners, and SEMMA courses at Fernbank Science Center.

After School @ Ashford Park (ASAP) successfully serves 100 kids each day of the week. Students receive homework support and enrichment activities in German, Computers, Arts and Crafts, Gardening, Physical Education, Science, and Cooking.
$30,000 in Brookhaven Bolt proceeds going directly to curriculum and classroom support, including new iPads for all Teachers.
